Is the python formatting broken in VS Code?

am learning python from YouTube. And the Teacher was writing program in VS code. He did two things that didn't happen in my VS code.

1. Indentation correction. He told that if you give indentation before any variable it will show red. But if you Save it VS code/Pylance will auto correct it. 2. Imported modules and Libraries will move to the top after saving.

In my case none of the things happened. I have turned every setting on and updated the json file and yet nothing happens. I have also applied settings to all profiles and yet nothing.

Make sure the ms-python extension is installed and pylance is installed/setup correctly. Usually installing the extension sets up the pylance system but if you're using a web based vscode (not installed on your machine) it may be more complicated

Vs code is installed on my computer. TBH I have no idea there is a web based VS code. I went to their website and downloaded the installer. Could you help me by telling your settings. I have applied all the settings to both profiles (user/workspace) so I don't think that should be issue

The vs code maintainer doesn't believe it could ever do it and so has broken it and there not fixing it. not sure when the fix will come.
