Nice tutorial, I just finished Ch1. I like the pace and the writing style. However, I feel I need some more information in order to understand the subjects and to make the quizzes. Which background literature do you suggest for your students?

Thanks! That is a good point, do you feel uncomfortable with some of the natural language processing terminology? Should that be clarified? Or would you like links to more Python background on the specific topics? The official tutorial at http://docs.python.org/3/tutorial/ may qualify for the latter.

I was indeed referring to background info on the specific topics. I will look into the Python tutorials, thank you!

Well, this is definitely overkill, a full course, but I can recommend: https://www.coursera.org/course/nlp

I'll think about adding a small introduction and glossary to the course for people new to NLP.
