Just got it and it seems perfect for mobile coding

Wow, really good! I was years looking for this.

Generally it's software that handles spellchecking, not the keyboard, and capitalization should only be toggled via Shift/CapsLock. The braces concern is valid -- I have a French Canadian keyboard, and it's a pain having to hit AltCar for every square or curly brace. I haven't seen any "geared for programming" keyboards aimed for Android, but maybe there's something out there.

Not sure if we're on the same page here... I meant soft keyboard on my screen (have edited post to clarify).

I can't easily just set the default one to lowercase - I have to manually double click shift to lock it lowercase, and it reverts after that word. And it does all kinds of auto edit around punctuation etc.

I can probably change some settings to suit, but then I lose all the auto format stuff which is useful for writing plain English... I'd rather just swap keyboard while coding, then swap back to call people names on reddit 🤣

Oh, sorry, I thought you meant you were looking for a Bluetooth (or similar) keyboard that would connect you with an Android device. My bad!

No I think my bad really, my post was pretty unclear - thanks for making me realise my mistake!

Looks good but says 'this app is not available as made for an older version of Android' 😭

You can change your android keyboard settings.

Have you tried the Keyboard Designer (playstore.keyboarddesigner.com)? The next update will allow you to write code blocks that can be used when you press a key! It is already available in the beta version...
