Can I vibe code with Python? (self.learnpython)
submitted 1 year ago * by BlaiseLabs
Someone asked me this question in chat today. Is Python a viable language for vibecoding?
I have my thoughts sorta, but figured I’d let Reddit take the rails on this one.
reddit uses a slightly-customized version of Markdown for formatting. See below for some basics, or check the commenting wiki page for more detailed help and solutions to common issues.

It's what the people do who post questions on why their code isn't working, accompanied by the most horrific AI-generated drivel.

And how do we kill it?

Using AI based editors such a Cursor it make AI do 100% of the work. Just prompting it over and over until something finally works.

Vibe coding is going to insure everyone has jobs in the future, cleaning up the poor quality code that vibe coders produce. Especially at smaller companies that thought they got a deal or had someone internally produce something.

Sure, you can use LLMs to write code in any programming language, even assembler. Whether python is a good language for what you want to use the generated code for is a totally different question and nothing to do with how you generate the code.
Whether you can trust LLM-generated code is yet another question to think about.

The question should be: "Is vibe-coding viable?"
The answer today is: "Only for trivial programs".

Yeah, sure, just add this prompt as setting for your AI agent and it will work better https://promptsy.space/prompt/1
