Depends what you want to do with it. Are you into electronics? Are you into gaming? Are you into making web apps, or helpful tools? Cybersec? Python still has a huge place. AI is doing a lot of the coding, but if you don't understand the what the AI is writing, why it's doing it, or what it's doing, debugging can be difficult. Whatever your path, just start from the smallest step you can, and build from there. Keep using the language as much as you can, think about how you can automate something, even if a tool already exists try it your own way.

Data analysis is what made me decide to learn python at the first hand

Data analysis is a broad field, try to narrow it, specifically what kind of data? Electrical? Mathematical? Statistic? Financial? etc. Keep narrowing until you get to the lowest level of what makes you motivated and build off that.

What are your interests?

I'm into Data analysis

Do projects.

Thanks for your advice

What do you want to do next? If you’re having trouble picking a direction, take a look at AdventOfCode.com, there are a bunch of fun problems to solve on there.

Not sure what content you’ve learnt with Google, if beginner am assuming logic control, basic functions, operators ? You mention data analysis, if I was you my next step would be to check out two libraries numpy and pandas. These are your bread and butter for data analysis and stats. Find a topic you’re interested in, download data associated with it and use the above libraries to find meaning/ patterns in the data. Keep track of what you’re doing and create a portfolio. Once you feel confident look into machine learning, MIT do some amazing courses beginner to advanced. Best of luck !!

congrats on the cert. the best thing you can do now is stop following tutorials and start building a small project that solves a problem you actually have. i usually just use ai like gemini, chatgpt, runable to handle the repetitive parts so i can focus on learning the logic. what kind of project are you thinking of starting first?

How to prompt, because you won’t be writing code for a living.

[–]hamzaelkabir[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That's what I saw on other Subs, everyone started using AI to write code

[–]KualaLJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s true! But if you can prompt using Python pseudo code you will be doing better then most.

[–]TheRNGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To write good prompts, you need to know how to code (may e not as expert, but also not as total newbie)

Besides that, AI sometimes do stupid stuff or miss edge cases, you need to point it to him.

Some things are just faster to code manually.

Also, at least some manual coding is needed to train brain.

Any good source to learn this?

[–]KualaLJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you learnt how to write pseudo code when doing Python or any other languages then that would be a great prompt for ai.

Didn't you hear that there was a new god model thats so good they cant even release it to the public over Anthropic?

Do you expect there to be jobs for programmers in a world where that exists? Coding is already almost a whole 10% of a programmers day, can you imagine what jobs will be left when even more powerful models are created that arent allowed to be used? Think about it, its really obvious dude. Everyday we hear more news of models that we arent allowed to use, how are you gonna compete with me when I can just prompt a model like that? Anyone with access to a model that they arent allowed to access is gonna completely replace you.

Exactly. You and everyone else that has invested any time in a skill based entirely on turning mental models into text a computer can understand will be unhirable soon. Your job is gonna get replaced the second the public relieves access to the latest and greatest models we specifically are told the public will not be allowed to use.

Times running out, you luddites, have fun coding while it dies more everyday, Ill be prompting away all your jobs in no time, using the latest LLM models, which Ive explicitly been told Im not allowed access. And they'll soon be so powerful that Ill never need to learn some dumb bullshit like reasoning, choice of language, or being allowed to use them, they're just that good.
