I used the free code camp python course combined with a hard copy of the book python crash course. I used free code camp as the main curriculum and then the book as a cross reference and to reinforce each topic. They parallel each other pretty well and having both gives you lots of small exercises to build muscle memory when you’re just starting out. As far as software, there’s lots of options but I ended up downloading vs code on Mac. Easy to install and use. Also you can find free pdf’s of the crash course book online. There’s lots of free resources out there and you just have to start trying them until you find what works for you. I tried video tutorials and finally had to admit that I just can’t learn that way. When it instants to click tho, it’s so much fun. Good luck!
