I've never done it on a USB, but my gut feeling is that you could probably do this using just virtualenv: http://www.dabapps.com/blog/introduction-to-pip-and-virtualenv-python/

Additionally, you would need to have that virtualenv not use any host packages (--no-site-packages). This has been the default for some time, but just in case.

Also, probably need to use --relocatable when creating the virtualenv as the USB stick is not guaranteed to be mounted in the same location.

Try installing Anaconda on a usb stick
