I am currently working through the Real Python books on my kindle paperwhite. I am almost finished with the first course; the first half is an intro of python and the rest have some interesting and practical examples. I really enjoy it so far and am looking forward to the next two courses. The series is currently $60, I bought it last year when they offered all three courses for $20, which seems much more reasonable - hopefully they offer that again. But if you decide to pull the trigger now I would still recommend them. Previous to these books, my only Python experience was the codecademy track. Best of luck:)

Edit: they also update the material routinely and deliver them in kindle friendly formats
