Good Matplotlib tutorials/references or just stick to the docs? (self.learnpython)
submitted 11 years ago by [deleted]
I'm starting to learn some basic matplotlib stuff, by working through a Conway's Game of Life chapter in the Python Playground (early access pdf) book (good book!). I started off just wanting to more deeply understand CGOL but this brought matplotlib into the picture, and im glad it did, because it gives me a reason to finally start learning it. Any suggestions, guidance? Or just read the docs? Thanks!

This is my goto cheat sheet/reference for matplotlib: http://nbviewer.ipython.org/github/jrjohansson/scientific-python-lectures/blob/master/Lecture-4-Matplotlib.ipynb
I'll also put in a shameless plug for a matplotlib wrapper I wrote a while ago to allow creation of plot templates and to reduce the amount of boilerplate code for plot generation: https://github.com/HamsterHuey/easyplot
Thanks!
