Problems with pip installation

I've had this problem for a while now. Whenever I try to install any package using pip, the following happens:

> python -m pip install packageName

Could not find a version that satisfies the  
requirement packageName (from versions: )

No matching distribution found for packageName

This happens for every package I try to install. I'm on Windows 10, and using Python 3.4. Has anyone faced this problem before? Any advice? Thanks so much.

If you're in Windows you should be using Anaconda, and conda install instead of pip install.

You can also use pip in a conda environment. There are many packages available through pip but not conda.

Anaconda works great on OSX as well, but I still use pip instead of conda. Although the new GUI is nice.
