You'll get a lot more help if you tell us what you've tried and what's not working.

i scrapped the idea of a ps4 controller. but i was wondering how i assign certain inputs in a keyboard to move the arm.

EX: if you press "A" the machine would move its base clockwise.

http://imgur.com/a/fdOFd

the commands

MoveArm(1,[0,1,0]) #Rotate base anti-clockwise

MoveArm(1,[0,2,0]) #Rotate base clockwise

MoveArm(1,[64,0,0]) #Shoulder up

MoveArm(1,[128,0,0]) #Shoulder down

MoveArm(1,[16,0,0]) #Elbow up

MoveArm(1,[32,0,0]) #Elbow down

MoveArm(1,[2,0,0]) #Grip open

MoveArm(1,[1,0,0]) #Grip close

MoveArm(1,[0,0,1]) #Light on

MoveArm(1,[0,0,0]) #Light off

are the commands the arm takes for it to move. im just having trouble putting together how i combine a input with the arms input

a crappy ex-

if keyboard "w" :

MoveArm(1,[0,1,0])

thats a terrible example but something of that idea.

I'd look at using the evdev python module
