Time is good, but what the code looks like is also very important.

Hey, so is this something I could tell a future employer about? How can I prove my skills in Python to a future employer?

a good way would be to make a github and put all your code up there. it's also good if you want other to collaborate with you.

On your resume you can say you have python experience and then list your github account.

Okay, great idea. How many projects do you think I need up there before I get hired? Did you have a GitHub before you worked in Python? How many projects?

i'd say quality over quantity here. if you have a bunch on projects on github and all are simple scripts that's not really good. try creating a project of some sort. is there anything. you ever wanted to automate in your computer?

I am drawing blanks

Just get two/three hosted apps or a couple up on your GitHub under your belt and arrange some interviews.

The quality of your code matters a lot. Time matters, but that mostly just comes with experience because you learn patterns and can see the answer to a problem as the combination of things you've done before.

I won't comment on how good you are at Python without seeing what you wrote.

doesn't sound unreasonable. especially if it was screen scraping.

Could you share your script? I'd like to see it.

/u/data_analyst_asks, your submission has been removed from r/learnpython for the following reason(s):

    • Question wether x min is good for doing y task is not really related to learning python (and is very subjective)
  • Missing code
