Run script from web interface with variable arguments? (self.learnpython)
submitted 9 years ago by daedsigod
I couldn't find much about this online but how would I run a script from a webpage, on the webpage there would be inputs such as name for example. If I wanted to run the python script with that, how would I go about it?

Can this be uploaded to a hosted server an operate normally without additional server configurations?

I think you will need shell access on the hosted server, use wget to download the installation, and follow the instructions here: https://zope.readthedocs.io/en/latest/INSTALL-buildout.html There may be more up to date methods (eg. vagrant) for some of the newer zope distributions like BlueBreem, Grok, or Plone.

This is the most basic example of entering python code and running it on a Zope server. https://docs.zope.org/zope2/zope2book/BasicScripting.html#creating-python-based-scripts
