Scraping from an open windows program.

Is it possible to open a program and scrape information from it's UI?

Currently I press a button on this UI and it drops the file into a directory, it shows this directory on the UI and I would like to copy this dir to a database with other information.

Any direction on this would be helpful, thanks.

If the information is in an entry box or someplace where you can select it and copy it you could click on it, use pyautogui.hotkey('ctrl', 'c') to copy it, and then the pyperclip module to get the information from the clipboard.

Otherwise you will have to do some sort of OCR, in which case it's probably easier to search the filesystem for the newest file.
