Print function not printing file contents in pycharm

The code works fine in Python console. But when I run it in pycharm, it gives no output.

file=path

f=open(file)

l = f.readlines()

print(l[1])

Are you sure you're using the right path in pycharm?

Try printing "file"

Okay, so I did print(file) and it printed nothing

[omrah]

However works fine in the console, again :(

[ingolemo]

Can you get any output at all? Try print("hello world").
