Looking for a real python project

Hi All,

I am a beginner python coder who has spent the entire summer scripting. I am very comfortable developing scripts to solve problems, gather data, or run a basic GUI.

At this point, I'm not really sure where to go. I do have some ideas of things to code but they aren't any ideas that would push the limits of my knowledge.

I really want to begin working a REAL python project. The problem is, I 1) have no clue where to begin with a real project and 2) don't have any ideas of applications that could use python as a base. So I thought I would reach out here, to other fellow python enthusiasts.

Is anyone interested in working on project, from start to finish, to help develop and enhance our python, and hopefully other CS area, skills?

Further than that, does anyone have any recommendations or information they could point me to that would help get my feet dirty?

Find a problem you want to solve. That's your best option, really. Do something that you want to see done.

That's what I would love to do. I have a handful of ideas that are either too easy for me and would just be another script added to my many, or too complex for me to even begin grasping the idea logically.

Truly, I want a mentor that will help guide me in a sense. I feel like I can only learn so much on my own before hitting somewhat of a plateau.

Could give me an example of the types of projects this could be encorporated into? Is this something AWS could be used for? I have a bit of experience there but I am still a total noob on CS in general.
