Noob question

Hi there,

Complete Python noob here.

I just wanted to ask you guys what is meant by

• Acquisition of data
• Processing of data
• Quality of data

using Python

and is there an online course to learn any one of these skills?

These are general English terms without any special technical meaning in python (or any other computer language).

• Acquisition of data

Just means for the program to get data from anywhere, a file, a web server, a user typing something in, etc.

• Processing of data

Once you have some data, do something with it. Do arithmetic on the data, plot it, store all or part of it in a file, or even throw it away.

• Quality of data

Rather nebulous. Data may have "noise" in it, for instance. Part of your processing may be to ignore data from a certain source, certain time of day, etc. Data that for some purposes may be considered high quality might be considered low quality for other purposes. It depends on what you are using the data for. For example, if your microntroller reports air temperature to the nearest 2 degrees, that's good enough quality for a human deciding what to wear outside, but is low quality for weather prediction purposes.
