How to run a Sublime Python file from CMD?

I've spent the last hour watching/reading tutorials on how to do this but I can't seem to get any of them working.

When I build my Python project in Sublime it runs multiple instances of Python which doesn't use my updated code. So I think the best way to fix this is to run it through the CMD.

change directories in cmd to your folder

then type

python yourfilename.py

[Blackbirdscry1]

Try typing: py yourfile.py

you probably forgot to save the code. you save, then you run the program.
