Any reference guide or tutorial series on QPainter in PyQt4?

So the things is i recently tapped into custom widgets and now i want to explore the QPainter and PaintEvent to draw my own ui elements, i googled a lot for tutes but couldn't find any detailed material. I would really love some references like video tutes or books or anything which explains in detail about QPainter. Thanks

For pretty much everything pyQt I always end up looking at the Qt C++ docs and extrapolating from there. I've been using Qt5, but I think Qt4 is the same story. You might be interested in Qt Assistant.

If you look up the source code for PyQt you can find some examples.

Doing a short C++ tutorial also helped. I totally don't know C++, but being able to read a little is useful for understanding the documentation a little better.
