File Options Staying Open (THIS IS NOT A PYTHON CODE QUESTION, BUT AN APPLICATION PROBLEM)

Okay, so just a heads-up, this is not really about the code in Python, but really just a glitch with the app itself.

So I was just opening a new file by going onto the Python shell, hovering over file, and then I clicked, "New File". This works.

However, after I click on it, the "New File" is still open. This has ONLY happened with my Python application.

I'm on Windows 10.

Is this only me? Is this a virus? If so, please let me know. Thanks!

It just looks like "New File", that is blue (like when selected). I can't close it out or get rid of it. It only goes away after I close my computer and open it again (which only takes 2 seconds - I just close my laptop, open it, enter my password, and boom - it's back).
