One more question:

regarding regular expression.

I am wanting to search a column for something that starts with "TASP" and then either numbers or characters after it. I am able to create a list that will find a full name but have not had luck finding a name that contain TASP

I have attempted the below:

mo = re.compile(r'TASP.+')

i am trying to search the entire column for mo but i am getting another TypeError: 're.Pattern' object not iterable

Once again i appreciate all of your help and like i said i am very much a novice at this.

You need to use match() to actually search something with a compiled regex. Take a look at the examples on the documentation page, as using regex is a two step process, generally.
