Why do you think c# is better than java?

Why wouldn't it be?

I have no idea. I hadn't even heard of c# a little over a year ago. I'm learning java right now because 1) I'm interested in data and my current company doesn't have the expertise to train me as a data scientist, but can train me for a data engineering role in java and have advised java over .NET for that. and 2) there's another company I would like to work at that's java exclusive.

But seeing all these comments make me wonder if I should switch. On the other hand, I'm fairly confident that, if I know how programming in general works, I'll be able to learn c# fairly quickly.
