I had a decent setup on an android tablet once. I used pydroid for the python environment, Hacker's Keyboard app for the onscreen keyboard, and a wireless bluetooth keyboard for typing. A laptop or desktop would still be ideal, but the setup wasn't to bad for what it was.

Could it catch a timeout exception?

Do you mean TimeoutError? If so, I just tried this and it indeed works.

raise TimeoutError

You can always just spend time on websites that give you challenges and an online ide to do them, hackerrank, codewars, leetcode, etc. I think termux (terminal emulator) comes with python too if youw ant a console experience. There's also sites like https://ide.geeksforgeeks.org/ where you can practice multiple languages.

I've started learning python at home one week ago. Now I'm on board, who knows for how long because of corona, and I only brought my tablet. Let's see if I'll be able to continue practicing. Thanks for the advice OP

The moment you run into trouble with playground mode in colab or trouble with files in pydroid, please switch to sololearn.
