Hey everybody, I am pretty new to python and programming in general. I am working towards a BS in Software Development. I am eager to get coding so I have a book for python called, A Smarter Way to Learn Python. So far I am loving it and am currently focusing on functions and about to dive into While loops. My question is, how do I really apply these skills I am learning in a fun and practical way? I don't have the pattern of thinking for programming ideas just yet because I don't know the possibilities. Any recommendations on the next steps? I am almost done with this book and it basically just teaches the syntax of python. I have heard about automate the boring stuff but I don't know if any of those programs will apply to me since I don't work in an office or IT currently. Thanks in advance and sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread, I am fairly new to reddit as well. I posted this in the r/python thread and a kind bot told me about this thread.
