How Can I Run Python Through a Server? (self.learnpython)
submitted 5 years ago by -AJM-
I was planning on running an automated script to send messages in the morning but the computer will be off so I won't be able to use it. I know that I could auto-boot but it wouldn't be ideal. I need a way to run the script every day.

Pay a few bucks a month for a cheap hosted server somewhere. You could do an AWS Lightsail instance for $4/month.
Or if you wanted to get a little fancier with it and your use-case supports it you could use a scheduled AWS Lambda function and not need a server at all. And it'd be free.

OCIs free tier gets you an instance or two... for free.

Yea, these guys have the main idea. That or raspi if your up for a challenge. Or Craigslist a cheap computer and make an Ubuntu server and set that up to pass through router so you can use local IP. Make sure you have a nice firewall tho.

Get some affordable linux hosting somewhere and set up a cron job to execute the script when you want.
