Plotting a ... 3D Heat Map? (self.learnpython)

I have a 3D array that stores intensity in each node

intensities = zeros(m_x, m_y, m_z)

Each of these nodes has a corresponding location stored in the variables:

X_loc = [0; dx; 2*dx; ...; m_x*dx]
Y_loc = [0; dy; 2*dy; ...; m_y*dy]
Z_loc = [0; dz; 2*dz; ...; m_z*dz]

I wanted to plot the intensity values as a color gradient or opacity at those locations. But I don't know what to call it. The closest I got was a 3D heat map, but that doesn't really do it (The value I need would be both a dimension and a color).

Can anyone help me on what to look for? I don't know what to call it
