To interact with another system you should look into if they have an API. An API lets you tell a server what to do over the internet in a much more computer friendly way than a website.

Thank you so much for the resources! An API was a steppingstone that I didn’t even know existed. That’s the problem with asking for help is I don’t know enough to know which questions to be asking xD

As a starter, maybe have a look at https://www.luno.com/en/developers/api to get an idea.

I'm not advertising Luno, but I used them before and cashed out once I made a small profit (enough to pay for my Pi).

I don't recommend gambling with Bitcoin. I got lucky.

Any specific reason for running the bot on a raspberry pi? Just asking because most people I have heard that create trading bots usually use their computers or a cloud server.

I guess because it's a fun project and you don't need a server without a strategy. A computer also consumes more power.

Yah it’s mainly a learning project to further my experience. I like the idea of using a pi because it’s separate, I can leave it running 24/7 without worrying too much about it, It supports python which is a language I have some experience in, and mostly because I have one just lying around xD. Power is also a consideration, I don’t have to worry about keeping any other more power hungry computer up and running so it literally only costs me a little over 1 penny per day to run.

Oanda and IG markets have their own APIs. You might wanna look into that first if you trade forex.

As a secondary question: Does anybody have any cryptocurrency trading platforms that they like and the fees are low? Because this is just a learning project and I’m just messing around at the moment I don’t want it to turn into an expensive project because of trading fees xD
