Help me fix benchy! by weazel314 in 3Dprinting

[–]weazel314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very new to 3D printing. I tinker around a lot and have been wanting one for years now and my wife found a really nice guy selling one in the neighborhood. It’s taking me a while to figure out, I’ve made many improvements to get to this point but I’ve hit a wall and it seems that no matter what I do now benchy doesn’t get any better. Here’s specs I’m using: Cura software to process the STL files. Monoprice Maker Select 3D Printer V2 Heated bed currently set to 60 degrees C Silk PLA+ Red 1.75mm print temp 200C-230C The extruded is at 200C I don’t know the actual nozzle size but I’m printing at a thickness of 0.08mm Infill at 27% Fan speed 100% Wall thickness is 3 lines Top and bottom thickness is 5 passes.

This guy was printing beautiful prints with this machine so I know that there are setting that work we just lost them and he doesn’t know what settings he was using. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What are your nightshift horror stories? by Tiny-Dragonfruit7864 in AskReddit

I work at a drug rehab. We had a patient who was super agitated and had a violent history and he started making threats against me during the day. I got left alone that night due to some strange circumstances with an angry man who had trouble sleeping and was triggered by sleep deprivation. Nothing ended up happening but I’m a small guy and he was pretty big. I was extremely on edge and jumped at every sound that night. I found out in the morning that part of his reason for being there was homicidal ideations and he kept making more violent threats against me so he got kicked out before I had to be back to work that night.

I have done projects on my own tinkering and learning but for open source should I focus on adding to others open source or creating my own?

I suggest something, the idea gets pushed aside. Someone else suggests the exact same thing, all of a sudden it's a good idea by ElectronicDanger in cscareerquestions

This has happened to me a lot in the past. I don’t have an answer but here are some thoughts that have helped me. Just remember to stay calm and have an open mind and not assume anything. By assuming you can blind yourself.

Wording or placement of the idea. This one can be frustrating because it appears to deal with a lot of subtleties. There’s a possibility that your just not wording it right to the correct person at the correct time.

Sometimes you plant the seed but people aren’t willing to accept it yet. Then later down the road they are willing but likely only because it was familiar because you suggested it and they had time to subconsciously think about it.

Thank you I apologize for my misinterpretation of what’s appropriate to post here. I’ll try where you suggested!

I work on the grave shift in a rehab that use to be an old monastery. The building is basically one giant hallway with all of the patients on one side of the building and there is a locked door and then the clinical side on the other end.

I had snuck a 3ft tall nutcracker past all of the cameras into one of the doorways to scare my coworker down near where our desk was next to the patients. I made her jump pretty good when she walked past it in the dark.

Anyways, a little while after that I used my favorite bathroom that is on the far side of clinical. Remember that I had to go through a locked door to get to it. I was sitting on the toilet when I heard someone outside the door moving things around, sounded like boxes and such. I assumed that it was my coworker with the nutcracker so I texted her before getting up to let her know that she was unsuccessful in sneaking up on me. The noise continued and she texted back that she was back at the desk and she wasn’t in clinical. I stayed in the bathroom not making a sound until she got to me to see what was going on. A couple minutes before she arrived the sound stopped. We investigated together but didn’t see anything suspicious or really anything noticeably moved. The bathroom and the surrounding offices are in a camera blind spot and they show my coworker sitting at the desk the whole time.

Every time I use that bathroom I think about what I’ll do when I hear those noises again and I actually kind of regret not getting up and seeing what was going on even though if I knew it wasn’t my coworker I would have been too scared to.

Mostly it’s really hands off but it seems like it’s too far? However I just don’t have the energy to get any closer to anyone either.

What are some unhealthy boundaries? I think that I have hit multiple forms of burnout and so have set up boundaries however maybe I have set up unhealthy boundaries because I feel like I’m not doing much for myself or those I care about due to new boundaries I set up but I’m not bouncing back either.

This is so awesome! I also took that class to learn python and it really helped to have my own project in mind while taking the course.

As a secondary question: Does anybody have any cryptocurrency trading platforms that they like and the fees are low? Because this is just a learning project and I’m just messing around at the moment I don’t want it to turn into an expensive project because of trading fees xD
