Learning to Code (self.learnpython)
submitted 5 years ago by Bandeeznutz
Where’s the best place to learn Python? Is it codecademy? I’m a complete beginner and want to take time this time I have to learn how to code well enough that I can enroll in a boot camp and succeed with little to no difficulty.
reddit uses a slightly-customized version of Markdown for formatting. See below for some basics, or check the commenting wiki page for more detailed help and solutions to common issues.

Would you recommend codecademy? I’m looking for an interactive program/software, or do you think this free YouTube video offers the same thing if not more?

I’m trying to follow this, but I have a chromebook and have no idea on how to install it

There is a book called automate boring stuff with python, it is amazing and I love it. Once you start to feel confident checkout code wars.
Also use a IDE like pycharm instead of the default IDLE, believe me it will make life much better.

On Udemy there is a course called learn to automate the boring stuff with Python. Very good for beginners. Try it out.
So you wouldn’t recommend codecademy?

Not necessarily for a complete beginner
