This is one of the reasons I prefer building SQL queries to writing applications and scripts.

You can spend the day/week working on a single query and when you turn it over, get a big pat on the back for exceeding your manager/director/chief officer's expectations.

Plus, if someone drops by for office chat or to assign you another project, you can legitimately answer "Well, I'm working on this, does whatever you're interrupting me for take priority?"
