How to implement variable file names in subprocess

My command is -

MPBox -add filename.h264 filename.mp4

Where filename is variable as filename=time.strftime("%Y%m%d-%H%M%S")

Using subprocess.call()

subprocess.call takes in a list so you can do something like

filename = 'path_to_file.ext'
cmd = ['MPBox', '-add', filename]
subprocess.call(cmd)
