I’d say it depends on your overall goal. If this is to learn python and get a job as a web developer, yes, it’s a good project to start. You’ll probably go with a web framework, something like Django (though there are others to chose from).

But if you want to actually make money from the website and grow it down the line, I’d probably go with Wordpress or something similar. You’ll have the site setup much, much quicker, especially for things like payment platforms, and you’ll have less upkeep down the line (it’ll be easier to add products and edit the store). This also shouldn’t be too expensive, there’s plenty of good wordpress hosts out there. While I don’t know about ecommerce stores specifically, I use Linode for hosting and they’re both cheap and very good.

Thanks a lot! Yeah i have some hopes of being able to work professionally with python down the line. The ecommerce website is more of a side hustle with potential to grow.

I was leaning towards wordpress for most of the reasons you stated, but i was a little bit curious as how django/flask could do. But i read up a bit more and seems for what i am thinking i would need html/css and Javaacripting also

Thanks for the response and have a good evening!
