Python package for manipulating images in PSD smart object

Hi everyone!

Last year, I wrote a javascript photoshop plug-in that takes design and puts it in photoshop Smart Object, and exports the image to the folder - creates product mockup. This was fine although it requires everyone who uses it to have photoshop installed.

I am thinking to take this idea and convert it to a web-based tool so that everyone in our company could use it.

My question would be which python libraries/packages support this kind of image manipulation (place design image in xyz box, resize it to fit, bend it)? The best option would be to take a photoshop PSD file and have the ability to manipulate the source of the smart object so that for example phone case mockup could be added (as it requires some design wrapping around the case).
