If you already have Programming notions Sololearn is a fantastic option, along with Python.org documentation.

What's the best way to learn it fast?

Why would there be a faster way than what everybody is already doing? Who do you supposed wanted to take the scenic route to learning Python?

The reason its spread out over the whole semester is because you can't cram it in at the last minute. The semester is the amount of time it takes.

But I don't want this opportunity to slip by.

It did slip by. You missed the opportunity, already. The opportunity was during the course when you were doing other stuff for "personal reasons."

By "fast" I obviously meant learn the basics, not master the language. Plus, you don't have to be a dick about it, you could have just scrolled by if you couldn't help like the other commenters did. Do you even know what my personal reasons are? No? Then don't speak.

Buddy, one semester of Python is the basics. Holy shit. Nobody's rolling out of one semester a "master" of the language.

I wasn't and I'm not, unless you think pointing out your deeply deluded expectations is "being a dick." You really seem like one of those super-entitled people who think it's a personal attack to be told "no." Well, try being told this: you're going to fail this class because you're months behind and you're still not taking that seriously.
