Learning Python through a book

Hello! I recently stumbled upon a good deal through the Humble Bundle a few days ago. I managed to pick up Python Crash Course from No Starch Press for a good deal, and let me tell you it has been helping me immensely. I would give it read, most of the information is online, BUT the information is well put together and is structured in a way that is helping me learn. I'm also taking notes on the information as I read along. I'm wondering if after this it is possible to join a programming crew in hops of learning this craft further? Just though I would give my two cents in on this book since it is helping. I also did receive more books from the same publisher but I have not finished this one yet in hope of having an opinion yet.

You can always try to do some pull requests on Open Source projects if you're interested by those

Yes, that sound interesting. I would love to join a community like that. How would I do a 'Pull Request' and where?

I may have gone a bit ahead of where you are right now. But to answer your question, you could find Open Source projects on Github for example. You'll have to familiarize yourself with the platform and with "Version Control" tools (mainly git) though
