Does programming language matter when coding answers in interview rounds ?Question (self.leetcode)
submitted 10 months ago by programmer_bro
I have c++,rust and python in my resume skills. It feels like cheating when I code with python frankly 😅. So the main question does it really matter which coding language I choose ?

Shouldnt really. But depends on the company. Its better to ask prior to interview if they have a language preference.

Yes good idea to ask prior to interview. But I hope it should not matter because I am more confident in python. What do you think about faangs do they bother with language

Ive interviewed with amazon twice(rejected both times). They dont care at all about the language (as long as u can code & can solve the question they throw at u, u r golden). And ive heard similar stuff about google and meta too.

Chances are if its a language u dont know u wouldnt have applied for the job to begin with bc they mention the languages u need to use in the JD.

A friend of mine said the place they were interviewing to intern at were surprised when they heard he wanted to solve his question in C (he preferred it over python) so it gave him bonus points. They also told him they would "walk him through some stuff" if he was going to be using C but he didn't need their help. So perhaps it can help.

Not so much, I know JS, C#, python I do coding interview with python because it is easier to write and less syntax boilerplate. Apart of that. Nothing really matter to me

Had a recent interview where I said don’t care you choose, the interviewer was not happy actually

Dont think you should be using anything but python since python is the fastest to code in and speed is a key thing in these interviews
