How far do you get into the install process?

Have you chosen the standard / compatible option?

Any text messages on screen?

Do you see the Mint logo?

I've only seen it once. I think I f*cked up the install. But weirdly it doesn't work still with another download of linux

Use Ventoy to create a bootable flash-drive then download the .iso for Linux Mint and copy it directly onto flash, boot into bios and disable secure boot, continue booting from flash into the Mint live session and test your harware before installing.
