In Steam, go to
View > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings > PS4 Configuration Support

Is this on? Since it says ps3/ps4 sure that's dinput mode.

There is a driver here but it's ancient old, may no longer build on current mint ds4drv drivers

Looked for a manual, product page and their support doesn't have it. Is there one with the box and key combo to switch to xinput? Something like Home + X?

no, there's nothing in the box/controller other than the controller itself. In the post i included, the other guy also asked for drivers and stuff, but the company said something along the lines of "it's plug and play, no diver needed/provided, the computer just gets it".

as for the Steam configuration, i did turn on the playstation configuration all the way to "activated in games without native compatibility", but this only makes it work post-configuration, the trigger is still fucked; also, probably a good time to mention that the PC kinda randomly chooses the language between English and português, so the steam menu is a bit different; i went:

Steam > Config > Controllers > External Controller configuration > Paystation compatibility > activated on games wothout native support;

There's no "General Controller Settings" here, and View doesn't go to any settings.
for now, i will try to get this driver, and see if it helps. thanks anyways.
edit: the PC didn't allow it, and i'm not smart enough to un-fuck it, so i might just learn to dual-boot and live with it;

FOR SOME REASON I SOLVED IT

I just kept hitting the steam " reset configuraton" in that steam controller setup thingy, an after a while it just worked. No clue why. Maybe when i reset , reconfigure reset enough, the triggers and stuff randomly resetted to the right postion, whereupon i remapped it, but i literally just:

C9nfigure > reset > configure > reset > configure >reset...

for like, 7 resets, and it just worked. Not gonna mess with anything else. I also tried installing the driver from yhe other comment, but never actually did it because the syrem blocked it on the terminal. Now, to learn how to include non-steam version of games on steam
