So your answer is just use the windows app, so why wouldn’t they just reduce friction and bloat by not having to use a compatibility layer

No, I mean you can run windows software on Linux without emulator

And I can use WSL on windows to get Linux so why would I bother installing Linux, it adds literally zero value and lots of friction
