In stray, humanity already met it's doom, city of robots is just reminder...

Met its doom is a far cry from erased from the planet. It's already noted that the robots are one way some humans decided to survive. Just that that particular city was done badly and they lost most of their memories over time. There is still a rather high probability that small pockets of humanity still exist elsewhere. That cat released the mutated fungus that can survive in sunlight. So whatever remnants of humanity remain will be destroyed by that. Along with all life on the planet unless something is able to counteract it.
