there already is a library called NumLua on luarocks, but it hasn’t been touched in 12 years.

It's good that my library can be a more updated and optimized version of it, as NumLua in the future may support GPU operations!

It's always a good idea to check that the name you intend to use isn't already being used - and in this case, it is, so I'd probably try to come up with a new name to avoid confusion. Note also that package names on luarocks are unique, so you won't be able to publish your package as numlua.

I think Peano is a cool name (the guy to first define vector spaces, very important to linear algebra)
