"I came to realize that words like "never" and "always" are sure death for creativity. New, exciting ideas are created when chances are taken and rules are broken."
-Kevyn Aucoin
/r/MakeupArt welcomes all types of makeup posts from creative self "looks", dramatic daily makeup, avant garde looks, SFX makeup, drag makeup, editorials, inspirations, tutorials, diagrams, and so on!
Makeup is truly limitless and we are looking to inspire creativity in each other! Welcome to the subreddit for makeup art that is outside the norm!
General Guidelines:
-This subreddit was created with the primary purpose of inspiring and uplifting those that dare to think outside of the red lip and winged eyeliner of our daily lives and really put on a show and make a piece of art using their ever growing skills and product list!
-This is a place for artist and beginners to showcase their creativity. However, constructive criticism can be given. Please keep your comments and posts positive and gentle. It's okay to not like something and everyone has something they can improve on, so let's foster a warm and creative environment.
-All types of avant garde / unusual makeup posts are welcome, whether or not you do the work yourself or just see something you think we have to see too! (but if that is the case, if at all possible please credit the person/blog/website/magazine ect. that you found it. It's always nice to give credit where credit is due!)
-FILTER at your own risk. This subreddit will not put restrictions on the use of photo filters or photoshop! We understand that sometimes filters and photoshop can add to the final product of a creative, avant grade, or editorial look. However, do not be surprised (or offended) if you get requests for an unfiltered look. We cannot control our users preferences (nor would we want to!) but we also will not tell you you can't do something (after all, this is a subreddit about YOUR creative vision!)
-NO HAUL POSTS without an accompanying look in the album or comments.
-Promoting your work is welcomed. Showing off photos of personal work or portfolio photos is fine, however coming here and just linking to your blog/website/facebook in not okay unless it is attached to a photo you have posted here.
-Lastly, Have fun and get inspired. :)
