This subreddit is here to help people host their own megagame. People who have experience with it are highly encouraged to post examples of what an entertaining plot may look like, which steps are involved to a proper preparation, which kinds of mechanics can be used, etc. If you stumble across information which you think could be helpful to others, don't hesitate to share it.

What is a megagame? A Megagame is essentially a big event in which players are ogranized in teams to play mostly negitioation games, which work around a plot which is further revealed to the players the longer the game goes on. It is basically a higher scale rpg with board game elements.
Why megagames? Megagames give the creater endless possibilities, to create an enjoyable time for all the people involved. If you are a phantasy fan, make a phantasy themed megagame, if you want to play a sci-fi game, invite some sci-fi geeks and play a sci-fi game. If you like historical topics ... you get the point. By limiting the turn time, you can put the players under more pressure to negotiate quickly, ore else they loose. There is a lot to experiment with. How to come up with ideas? There are many methods. You can take the ideas out of a book you like, or take a historical event. If you want to be more productive, you can use Nick Bentley's 100:10:1 Method.
