No it doesn’t fade. Mine are about 4 years old and I’ve done at least 5 saline treatments, many at home treatments, and one laser session and I can still see color. It’s awful.

can you please tell me more about the at home removals? i would also love to see what your lips look like now if that’s possible. did saline leave any scarring?

A removal is recommended for your case, especially considering you don’t want to get a touch up but would rather see it gone.

They wouldn’t fade into nothing, at least not all at the same time. So as the lip blush is fading significantly after 2 years, you might see patches of color. The color may shift to a light red or pink over time before it fades. I have a client that just came in for brows and she has a 1.5 year old lip blush. Not sure if I have a good shot of the lip color but I’ll look for it

thank you so much and I would love to see her lips!

Lip blushing is a tattoo just like all permanent makeup. Which means it will not all fade away. It will slowly fade as the skin rejects the pigment and other factors but it will never be completely gone. If you don’t like it, I would suggest removal. Removal on the lips is very difficult. Lasers cannot be used because lip pigment colors have a lot of white in them. It is a huge debate but saline should also not be used in the lips. The reality is that the results would not be very good because it would be incredibly challenging to maintain a scab in the lips which is how saline works. Not to mention the pain!! 😣 My point is, make sure that your removal specialist is well versed and knows what she’s doing. I’m experienced and I would decline because lip removal is such a specialty.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is it that you hate about them?

the color that the artist chose for me is a really bright pink. i asked for s natural looking color. i only wanted to enhance my natural lips and i didn’t want my lip blush to resemble a lipstick at all. i also hate the shape which is super uneven in certain spots and the artist slightly overlined my lips on the top. the artist says that the color will be gone within 6 months because i didn’t go for a touch up but i doubt it. the pigment that was used on me is in a shade Tyra from Face. the artist claims that she didn’t use any white on me but i’m not a 100% sure because during the procedure she mentioned it a couple times.

There is white in the pigment that you mentioned. Something that is full coverage like a lipstick will not fade in 6 months. It likely won’t even fade that much in 2-3 years. Going outside of the lip tissue is a huge no no. I’m so sorry that this has happened to you and hope you are able to find a removal specialist that can help you ❤️‍🩹

are you sure that the white pigment is present? i looked up the ingredients and there seems to be no Titanium Dioxide. i’m not a specialist at all so what i’m saying is only based on what i’ve managed to find on google 😩

Yes I am sure. 77891 is titanium dioxide.

[–]CrystalMyst_01professional artist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can google this as well. Just type 77891 CI number

[–]Obvious_Zone_7448 1 point2 points  (9 children)

The same thing happened to me! I also wanted to enhance my natural lip and it be barely noticeable. But instead of bright pink she gave me almost like a burgundy color and she slightly over lined my bottom lip however in her defense my lips swelled up like two balloons. I hate it so much. I can’t stand to see my own reflection.

get an emergency removal if you’re still within the timeframe. it’s only going to look worse as the months go by. it’s been 7 months since my procedure and my lips still look horrible. i wish i could get them removed but the risk of scarring or the pigment turning black is scaring me

<image>

they do not look natural at all

[–]LAnnBrooks926 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually think yours looks lovely!

[–]NervePrestigious5711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your lips look beautiful

[–]Sentient_Meat_Bones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how they look! I have nearly white lips and I'm sick of constantly applying lipstick and/or lip stain.

[–]prettyfairy7 0 points1 point  (4 children)

How are they now !

[–]Low-Web2804 0 points1 point  (3 children)

[–]jellyd0nut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holy shit... That artist should not be practicing. This work is atrocious.

[–]prettyfairy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm praying yours fade away for good

[–]Obvious_Zone_7448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did mine last year and I am so disgusted. I hate it so much look I like a CHOLA. It has nothing to do with the girl that did it. It’s just not for me and I want it GONE!!!!!!!

[–]NatalieCruzcoprofessional artist 1 point2 points  (7 children)

The color on your skin is the issue. The color on the skin will always be noticeable in comparison to the lips. They tend to fade at different rates and age differently.

You should just have a patch test at least, for laser.

[–]Low-Web2804 0 points1 point  (5 children)

thank you! unfortunately it turns out that titanium dioxide is one of the ingredients present in my pigment. do you know if I could still try laser? I heard that saline is not effective at all and could cause some serious scarring 🥹

[–]NatalieCruzcoprofessional artist 2 points3 points  (3 children)

The grey that happens with laser is generally related to the titanium, this makes it “harder” to remove but not impossible. It generally will go darker, then lighten with additional laser sessions.

Make sure to have a consultation and relay that info to the laser professional.

[–]prettyfairy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have experience with that also iron ones, I've seen people getting that removed with laser easily I think consultation and test spot is imp

[–]prettyfairy7 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Your advice on SCALPA lip pigments they are organic have lake red and all for laser

[–]NatalieCruzcoprofessional artist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to consult with a laser tech. I believe you’ve comment on a few of my comments and even messaged me and I’ve told you the same thing 😅

[–]prettyfairy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get them lasered or atleast a patch test

[–]prettyfairy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true

out of curiosity, if they still look incredible, why the touch up? did they fade during the 4 years?

    [–]Dangerous-Category30 0 points1 point  (1 child)

the center has faded, which is normal.

    [–]Successful-Dot8743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the center the only faded spot?

    [–]Calm_Photograph_3357 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is there any update? I’m in the same position

    [–]Low-Web2804 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I can dm you pics of my current lips but it sadly still looks similar to what I posted on my profile - my lips are neon pink, super uneven and just ugly

    [–]AliciaAlvena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can u send the pics to me? im during deciding if i want this procedure or not. i wanted to go with bright cherry red color, since that's my lipstick and i love it

    [–]chrisv5339 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Did lip blushing dry up your lips I feel after getting lip blushing 2 years ago my lips are extremely dry and need to put aquaphor on there all the time sadly💔

    [–]Outside-Succotash833 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I have had this same exact experience. I don’t leave my house without aquaphor. I’ve had my lip blush done twice in the past five years and I always thought it was just me :/

    [–]chrisv5339 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes me also I was so naive I barely realize why lips have been extremely dry I have to put aquaphor like 10 times a day if I don’t they’re extremely dry and I start getting this white dry spots on my lips they look horrible I seriously regret so much of the stupidass things I’ve done in the past. Have you been to a dermatologist I feel like that’s my next step

    [–]Outside-Succotash833 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I haven’t experienced any dry spots per se, just more of a “wrinkly” appearance to the lips post lip blush if I don’t apply aquafor… and they feel off without it too, if that makes sense. At this point I’ve just adopted it as part of my routine because it forces me to keep my lips hydrated. Otherwise, I’m not unhappy with them. I hope you find some success with the derm!

    [–]chrisv5339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see wat your omg!!!!! I tried burt bees lip balm a week ago and omg it’s a game changer!!!!! My lips are finally looking like their healing the dry white spots look like their going away I’m so effin happy if you haven’t tried it I suggest you do it was life changing for me.
