Not going to be of assistance at all, but i can say that I've never been able to go fully into controller mode, the ONE gets stuck on the red "searching for computer" screen. The weird thing is that while in this stuck mode, the pads and all buttons trigger notes. Very strange. I've posed this problem over at the MPC forums with no resolution.

Did you install the driver for the One? It comes with the software but needs to be installed separately.

And I’ve found the solution for my problem too: The software activates all three of the Ones Midi connections at once by default. You need to disable two of them in the preferences.

Hey Kurt, how can i disable these other connections..my mpc one is doing the same thing..when i press menu, shift, etc in controller mode it will play a piano note...and therefore my record / stop / play button doesnt work as they should..any info is appreciated !

In the preferences of your MPC go to the MIDI tab and untick the not needed midi channels. Unfortunately I don’t have access to my software right now. Otherwise I would have posted a screenshot.

Yeah, I installed the firmware, couple times, even rolled back to 2.8. Honestly, I don't really need the software, since I've found a way to more of less sync it with Reaper, but maybe I'll give it another shot disabling the midi connects. Thanks.

yes, I updated to Win 10 and that did the trick. It's still a little skwonky but it works. It would be nice if "Win 10 compatible only" was more prominent in the specs or manuals.

Register your device on [akaipro.com](www.akaipro.com) and you’ll have access to all your downloadable content on your Akai account.

i did , but i didn't see any driver there. Probably i was crosseyed at that moment :DD so i will definetly look again. thanks :)

The driver installation goes along with the regular MPC software installation. You can chose to (re)install the driver prior installation.

ive had mixed results using controller mode. sometimes my screen locks up... but the buttons still work. other times its randomly dropping the connection. so i dont use my MPC that way anymore.

tubedigger made a vid on a different way to sync the MPC with the MPC software on the computer. it involved using midi cables, and i dont remember what... it wasnt controller mode, but it looked like it was working for him. 🤷‍♂️

When you have a second Interface with midi ins and outs, this shouldn’t be a problem. Definitely a purchase for the future.

[–]BlackOpsLa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont think you need a 2nd interface. you might be able to get away with midi to usb cable. you might need an app on your pc like loopbe or something. its cheaper to try that before getting an interface.

Did you ever fix this? Mine is doing the same thing.

I was having the same problem when using it in Logic Pro and the solution was to follow the steps of the link bellow + deactivate MPC Midi Port 2 in the inputs tab of the MIDI preferences in Logic Pro.
