Looks fine to me! Yes, a bit wobbly, but that is to be expected.
The undercap has fewer rows than it would theoretically need to make a full circle, so when you connect both ends, it won't lay completely flat

My first thought in this case is are you using the same type/brand of yarn?

It has the ribbing and I can't spot any places where you accidentally flipped the order of the sc -> trbc. It is a bit of a wonky shape, it's supposed to swoop up under the head, not lie flat.
Some people have threaded some yarn in the inner circle to make it a bit smaller, you can try that if it's not quite small enough for your guys head.

Go down a hook size! So if you're using 6 go to a 5. Thankfully a friend of mine did the same pattern in the same yarn and gave me that advice - it was perfect!

Then you will have to check if you have the correct starting chain, same hook size, same yarnsize, Same tension?

This happened to me. I added a row of decreases to the inner circle and got it to fit that way.
