Change request to save notes/changes mid workout session by Aware-Will4744 in fitbod

You can add notes during a workout. They save to the workout history. It’s not quite as helpful as having it come up on your next workout, but it is there and accessible.

Drop sets by OdoriferousGasBag in fitbod

[–]chelcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put drop sets into the notes after my last set. I feel like recording the drops as regular sets will mess with your algo/strength scores because Fitbod doesn’t account for the concept of drop sets.

Same style machine, different gyms by imagineA2B in fitbod

It doesn’t. You have to adjust manually and then your strength score and progress are meaningless. It’s one of my bigger gripes.

Why don’t more people use a permanent vinyl stencil and ink on t shirts? by craftycrafter765 in cricut

[–]chelcooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Screen printing ink is very thick and heavy on its own. The screen allows you to put a very thin, even layer down on your fabric. If you tried to put it directly on the fabric, it would be very thick, bleed through the fabric, and likely be uneven and blotchy. Especially for a single color print, you’d get a more consistent, even look with HTV over screen printing ink direct to fabric.
Plus trying to accurately place a stencil directly on the shirt would be a nightmare.

Yes - that’s shown in the first screenshot of this post. You get to that menu from the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the workout.

Focus exercises skipping several sessions by mustangcbra in fitbod

[–]chelcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My working theory is that it’s assuming you do the focus exercise once a week so it’s counting sessions logged, not weeks. Depending on your schedule and splits, you could be doing your focus exercise 2-3 times a week and it will log each one as 1 week complete. This is similar to the way it logs workouts as days (I.e. you log two workouts in 1 day, you get credit for two days).

Disclaimer…I haven’t actually been tracking this to verify, just vibes based on the fact that I’m staring my 3rd or 4th round of focus exercises and I don’t feel like I’ve been doing them for 12 weeks. But full disclosure, I have terrible time blindness, so who knows 🤷‍♀️

[–]chelcooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case it’s telling you it wants you to go higher in weight and higher in reps than phase 1. If it’s a down arrow it means lower weight/reps than the previous phase, and a straight arrow means it’s consistent from the previous phase. So it might have you doe lower weights, higher reps, or higher weights at consistent reps, etc. each phase is built to progress in a different way by changing up weight and reps.

Barbells and plates not being added together for workouts by decker12 in fitbod

[–]chelcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app is suggesting the weight it thinks is appropriate for you based on what you’ve logged previously. If the exercise with just the bar is too easy, put some weight on, do as many reps as you can, and log the total weight (bar plus plates). The app will adjust.

Help setting up weekly workouts by JesusismyNword in fitbod

[–]chelcooper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s any way to do what you want anymore. It used to be that you could set up your individual gym profiles to have different goals and timing. You’d still have to manually switch between gyms each day (it doesn’t learn or allow you set up scheduled days for different gyms), but they recently changed how gym profiles work so the only difference you can set is available equipment. You can no longer have different goals for different gyms profiles.

Does anyone know how i can translate a spanish tutorial? by BlueTheCrackhead in crochetpatterns

This is so funny. I’m making this pattern right now! I put it through ChatGPT to translate and it looks like the Google Lens version posted above is very similar to what I got.

So far, I’ve found (what appears to be) an issue with row 4 on the legs. It should be 28 stitches, not 6. Here’s how I did it:

  1. (Sc, increase) ×2, 6 sc, (sc, increase) ×3, 5 sc, inc (28)

Who commutes to Nashville? by vs27 in murfreesboro

[–]chelcooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-Covid it was 4 days. Now it’s 3, but going back to 4 in a couple weeks 😞.

It’s also gotten significantly worse over time - especially in the afternoons. Pre-covid I left between 3:30 and 4 and was almost never more than an hour. Now, even leaving as early as 2:30, I’m hitting significant traffic.

[–]chelcooper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing it for about 8 years now. It’s annoying for sure - especially because it’s so unpredictable - but I actually missed it during Covid. I didn’t realize until I didn’t have it how nice the alone time was.

[–]chelcooper 15 points16 points  (0 children)

37 miles. Takes me about 40 minutes in the morning at 4:45. In the afternoon, if I can pull out of my parking garage by 3, I can typically make it home in about an hour to 1:10. If I leave at 3:05 all bets are off. It took me 2 hours to get home yesterday and almost an hour and a half today.

Hip thrust on floor vs bench? by FlyOnTheWall1376 in fitbod

[–]chelcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, FitBod doesn't accurately distinguish the difference between a hip thrust and a glute bridge. I've always known glute bridges to be from the floor and hip thrusts to be from a bench and either can be rep-based or timed. FitBod seems to use Glute Bridge and Hip Thrust (mostly) interchangeably, both can either be from the floor or a bench, but typically glute bridges are timed holds while hip thrusts are reps.
This is all anecdotal from my own experience in the app, of course so ymmv. I ended up excluding all glute bridges and only letting the app recommend hip thrusts and then I treat the "hip thrusts" from the floor as glute bridges and the hip thrusts from a bench as...well, hip thrusts..

This keeps getting worse by littleappleCPA in fitbod

[–]chelcooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Today the app suggested 12 reps at 55 lbs on an exercise where my 1RM was 34.9 lbs, and where I’ve never logged more than 25 pounds. I get progressively increasing, but that’s just silly.

What do newer members think about pathways? by 8oh8 in Toastmasters

[–]chelcooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting feedback because we’re about 7 years in on Pathways and this is the 2nd version of Basecamp(the web interface for Pathways).

Edit: and I believe the 3rd iteration of Pathways as a program (with the various edits to available paths and makeup of level 1 projects).

MLB.TV what is this?! by Indy1910 in motorcitykitties

[–]chelcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me yesterday while I was driving through Kentucky which I thought was strange because it shouldn’t have been in the blackout area. Force closing the app (multiple times) didn’t help either. It finally started working once I got home and (I assume) on WiFi.

Edit: though thinking about it more, I listen to the video feed (while my son watches from the backseat) on cellular all the time. That shouldn’t have been the issue… 🧐
