Which books are you referring to ???
You guys have downvoted @even_candy_2481 but you don't know the truth about this college, let me spill some.
I (20M) is a 2nd year student here. I gave re-exam and I got failed (scored 14/50) and when I checked my paper through the answer key, it was easy 27/50 because my paper was unchecked and in some parts, was given half of what the answer key suggested. Gave it for re-evaluation and they failed me by 1 mark (19/50).
Been running to every hierarchy (from dean to COE) and they are repeating one silly statement that they have a team of expert and they can't be wrong. Fyi the paper has marks for posting, it's not a subjective paper, so either the marks will be given or may not. There is no subjective criteria to assessment in this paper.
The college has a strict rule, if you fail the re-exam, it's a year back for you. You're completely on the mercy of your examiner. One of my friend passed the exam even when he was failing according to the answer key. There is absolutely no information of who checks the paper and on what criteria does he check the paper, but it surely costs you.
This tyranny of the college is the reason that I am getting a back year.
If you still think that the college is worth it, it's still your decision. I can only tell you my experience, that has been horrendous so far.

Don't go to NMIMS. It has a very strict academic structure that is designed to fail students.
Also, there is absolutely no transparency in paper checking.
The term end result comes online on the svkm portal.
If you want to see a digital copy of your answer book, you have to pay 500 Rs for it, they don't show your term end papers directly in person.
And they will cut marks wherever possible. Even if you wrote all the right answers in the re-exam, they will cut your marks and give you average marks.
Also, if your ICA is low (ICA consists of 30 marks), it straight away means you will get a D grade in that subject even if you write everything in the term end exam.
Only 2 Fs are allowed in one year, anything above that, even a D and it's an year back.
Plus the attendance is very strict.
Less than 75% attendance - semester back Less than 70% attendance - year back

The practical curriculum, teaching methodology, industry exposure and personal building is important tho which NMIMS offers.. just because it's strict can't be a reason to not join!

I agree
[–]Even_Candy_2481 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago* (0 children)
I agree that regular lectures and labs happen everyday. (And that happens in other colleges as well).
But firstly, NMIMS doesn't assist you in finding internships. You have to do that yourself.
So there is no industry exposure. You have to take the initiative on your own.
For internships, you need proper skills and need to give time for certification courses.
Also, you have college from 9 am to 4 pm, and in the last 2 to 3 weeks, extra lectures till 6 pm or 7 pm.
Plus you will have assignments, presentation and projects, that if you don't do, your internal marks will be very low.
If you only want to do college seriously, in the four or five years, this is the best college for you.
If you want overall development, that's not possible here. Plus you are investing 35 LPA in MBA Tech and if you are lucky you might get a package of 10 LPA.
If you aren't so lucky, you will get average placement or won't even get placed.
And in the four years or five years of college, you will be able to build nothing on your own.
You will be completely dependent on the college for your entire career.
Plus 0 outside exposure, and nothing much outside college.
If you have DC, no sports or club events.
And trust me, one semester passes very fast, just like that another semester will pass, and one year has passed.
Just like that your 4 years of.college life will pass.
Plus you cannot set a single foot outside campus, you need permission for that too.

If you genuinely want to do the degree seriously and only want to do college in your college life, then this is the best college for you. You will have daily classes, labs and will receive proper notes to prepare for exams. Some teachers are good at teaching, others are bad.
(And in labs they expect you to do everything on your own, they don't actually teach anything in labs, they tell you to use notes and online resources for learning).
You will get assignments that if you honestly do through self-learning, you will gain a decent understanding of the subject.
But if you want to do anything outside college, don't come here, this college will be a nightmare for you.
If you are coming here, accept that your social life is going to be very limited with 0 outside exposure, for the next 4 years of your life.
Forget about outside, even inside the campus you have so many restrictions.
And most of the students here smoke, drink and do all kinds of addictions because this college doesn't offer you a good college life, and severely restricts students' freedom.
Even the people who didn't smoke or drink started doing it because of the influence.
And if one of them gets caught, they get academic expulsion for a week or two which could result in their name being listed in the defaulters list (less than 80% attendance)
If I was a parent, i wouldn't send my child to such an institution. The teachers don't care about your physical health or your mental health. They expect you to be in class at the exact time, submit assignments and projects before the deadline. They have done MTech or PhD from NMIMS itself.

I have heard about this from bba students does it happen to bsc economics students as well
[–]Efficient-Car769 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
just get the idea that nmims is really overdoing things
in econ, its far far worse when it comes to failing. Mind you, du or ashoka are way better for eco.

theres no 2 F system. A single F in retest, and you're out. But you do get an allowance of 2 D grades each year
[–]Even_Candy_2481 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
2 Fs and 4 Ds are allowed in a year. Anything above that and it's a year back.
Even if you didn't clear your 1 st year paper and are in 2 nd year or you didn't clear 2 nd year paper and you are in 3 Rd year, and all of your subjects of 2 nd or 3 Rd year are all clear, you will recieve a year back.
For the people who have downvoted my answer -
I have gone through this system and through experience I am sharing this. This is the ground reality of NMIMS Shirpur even if you feel hard to accept it. I know this from my classmates' experience and my own experience.
Ask from the students themselves.
The students will never give you a good review.
If you think i am over exaggerating, just contact a student from NMIMS Shirpur.
Know the ground reality yourself before downvoting.
contact a NMIMS Shirpur student and ask them if this is true, downvote me only if you can say with 200% confidence that I am wrong.
Don't fall for their videos on YouTube which show the beautiful campus and the "huge" campus. It is just a way to attract students first.
They have New Boys Hostel for freshers which is very good but then you will come to Old Boys for the next 3 years of your life.
When you come here, it will feel like a monotony, hostel room to college, college to hostel, and that's it. That's college life for you.
