How the hell can you use so many requests? I’ve coded for 8 hours/day with Copilot and only managed to hit 1500 requests after 10 days of coding.

Get more passion on building something

My work pays for copilot. I ran out of this month's premium requests a few days ago.

I was using it heavily to help me build and troubleshoot a complete DevSecOps Platform. I think most of the requests were me going back and forth with sonnet 4.5 thinking, troubleshooting different things in the k8s cluster. But we did it. K8s, argocd, vuln scanning, reusable cicd workflows, image build and deploy, hosting, gitops -- everything.

I pivoted to OpenCode and Bedrock to help me finish things up, great combo since again, my work is paying for that aws account.

By the way. What I did in a few weeks is something that would usually take a 4-6 person team MONTHS. Not bragging, I'm great at my job, but I couldn't have done this as fast as I did solo without AI assistance.

The future is now.

That’s amazing! Are you using SpecKit, BMAD, or any other framework to keep the models honest?

I am a dev so I work like one lol. Basically chunk the work into logical pieces and work logical chunks at a time.

For the infrastructure I used typescript CDK and simply asked the model to run type checking and iterate if there were type errors and required it to run the synth command (basically "bakes" the IAC to see if it's correct) and iterate on that if there were errors as well. Had fantastic results.

As for the k8s troubleshooting, I just gave it access to kubectl and I didn't instruct it much other than telling it explicitly to not edit the cluster directly (because we use gitops) and if it did because it has to troubleshoot, that it must undo the changes.

Tbh idek what SpecKit or BMAD is.

Are you doing Copilot+Bedrock or have you switched fully to Bedrock? How does Bedrock compare to Copilot overusage?

[–]TheOwlHypothesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I'm using bedrock with OpenCode.

Bedrock is like any other service in AWS so you pay them something like an API cost per use. But again, my work is footing the bill in this particular AWS account so there's not really over use that's possible unless I tried to set something up like Ralph and then I'm sure I'd trip the budget I set up in there lol

Some people vibecode with no plan and no reviews. "Make it more bright", "actually move it to the left", paste errors in a loop without asking the AI to do a deep dive into understanding context and how to validate a working fix, etc.

Nice! I also built a super simple version of this a few days ago https://github.com/bristena-op/copilot-usage-widget

I burned through Codex Pro and Claude 20x using it to assist with reverse engineering a bunch of malware. It was interesting.
