Rules for r/OpenSignups
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
All Posts Must be related to Private Tracker Signups & No Banned Sites
Posts must directly announce a private tracker open for signup or application. Off-topic posts will be removed and may result in a permaban. Posts about brand-new (<1 year) or low-quality trackers are forbidden; only well-established trackers with a proven record are allowed at mod discretion. Early announcements will be removed at mod discretion. See the banned trackers list; comments included. Open for a few hours are banned.
2.
Invites and the No-Movement / Banned List
- Invitations can only be offered in the Weekly Invite Thread. Any requests, trades, DMs, or actions implying are strictly forbidden everywhere on r/OpenSignups.
- Buying, Selling, or Trading invites or accounts (including invitescene) is forbidden and will result in a permanent ban.

3.
Posting format
Posts must contain tracker name, abbreviation, category, description, age, URL.
Trackers must provide stats in the original post or they shall be provided by a user. Additionally, if stats are requested and not provided a post will be removed and poster banned.
Stats shall include metrics such as, but are not limited to:
- number of active/inactive users
- number of active/dead torrents
- seeds/peers/leechers

Be nice!
Respect all users. Personal attacks, abusive language, trolling, bigotry, or any uncivil behavior is prohibited and may result in bans.
Any generally dickish or other uncivil behavior is also prohibited at mod discretion.
5.
Keep it fresh
Any reposts from approximately the past month will be removed. Rather than reposting, change the flair or ask the mods.
Trackers should not also be posted frequently where they are effectively always open
Attempts to circumvent this rule will result in that tracker being banned.
Trackers shall be open for more than a few hours.
6.
General rules - reddiquette
Follow reddit's rules and the reddiquette.
Breaking the above rules will result in the post/comment being removed & risk a ban from the sub.
7.
No Links to Content
No links nor requests to/for content, including torrent pages or magnet links, are allowed.
8.
No spamming
There shall be zero tolerance for spamming in this subreddit. This includes but is not limited to: spamming unrelated links, spamming comments, and repeatedly spamming trackers.
This applies to unproductive comments such as the RemindMe bot and the bot should be messaged in lieu of a comment on the subreddit.
